
Sweat and Tears from Charity Eating Competition – The Gobble Off
In a break from the usual programming, we wanted to highlight a good cause that Ian from our Purchasing team has been championing.
The competition, nicknamed the “Gobble Off”, took place last Friday. Ian competed against Johnnie Simmons, having to eat a huge and challenging variety of food. It consisted of a double chilli cheese burger, 4 giant crackers, a hot chicken curry with scotch bonnet peppers, 4 hot spicy chicken wings and a doughnut pudding with 2 jam doughnuts and a chocolate ring doughnut.
Unfortunately Ian didn’t win, but The Freedom Centre in Sheerness did, with over £2,000 raised. The charity offers social and educational activities to adults with physical disabilities with the aim of widening skills. Please visit their website if you’d like to donate.
