Scotline Launch the New MV Scot Isles
Scotline launched MV Scot Isles on Friday 4th June 2021 at Royal Bodewes Shipyard in Groningen.
We’re pleased to announce that on Friday 4th June 2021, we launched the new Scot Isles. We renamed the previous Scot Isles to Scot Bay in early 2021, in order to make way for the newbuild.
Unfortunately we were not able to attend the launch this year due to travel restrictions, therefore the best we could manage was watching on a live-stream. Below is a video of the launch from Royal Bodewes!
Scot Isles is the fourth in the series of newbuilds from Royal Bodewes in recent years. She is a sister to the Scot Carrier, Scot Explorer and Scot Ranger, with Ice Class 1A and enclosed bridge wings like the later vessels. Scotline are very proud that Nelleke Schouwenaar – wife of Royal Bodewes director Johan – agreed to be the Godmother of the vessel. Thankfully the bottle smashed first time which will prove good luck for many years of safe trading.

We look forward to taking delivery in late July, all going well. We hope she can join her sisters in the fleet for a busy summer period. Her addition to the fleet continues to show Scotline’s commitment to modern, reliable and environmentally-friendly tonnage, and to offer the best and most reliable service to our customers!
